Herne Bay to Reculver (and back)

We actually started on Herne Bay seafront, and walked to Reculver and back, but the GPS app on my phone helpfully crashed half way to Reculver. Total walk was therefore approx 7 miles, in 3.5 hours. We need to speed up :-)

The clifftops between Bishopstone and Reculver have a footpath and a cyclepath. It seems that cyclists get cross at walkers walking on the cyclepath (even though it’s signposted as a footpath).

Psht! Cyclist are wankers, aren’t they?

  2. The one we met was, yes. We weren’t actually even in his way, as common courtesy – and a healthy dislike of being hit by a bike – meant we stepped well to one side way before it was an issue.

  3. Argh! I was so enraged by the antisocial attitudes of cyclists that I missed the trailing ‘s’.

Only a secondary consequence of those bloody cyclists arrogance and thoughtlessness but nonetheless serious to a professional writerist.

Maybe James Martin is right after all?

  4. I hadn’t heard about the James Martin fiasco – rather amusing :-) I did mention to Mrs H at the time that if I ever see that particular cyclist on the road whilst I’m driving I’d be tempted to – at the very least – lean out the window and shout “NOT A CYCLE PATH” at him. I think I may have muttered the words “run him off the road”, but I’m not sure it would actually come to that :-)
