Hello again everybody. My web…

Hello again everybody. My webserver, Greebo, is back after a complete reinstall. I thought it was best to give myself a little bit of protection against harddisks popping, so Greebo now has a small RAID 1 array – 2 x 60Gb drives for all my data and stuff. :-)

In other news, my week off is drawing to a close, and I feel suitably destressed and ready for battle to recommence next week ;-) It’s been a very very nice week off – big thankyous to everyone who made it so. :-)

It’s been a while since I added to the gallery… so here’s a few pictures I took this evening of the sunset from Hampton. I don’t think they quite capture just how cold it was… And those fisherman? There are some people who really love their sport.

Hello everyone. Beautiful day…

Hello everyone. Beautiful day today – clear blue skies, nice chill to the air. Almost perfect golfing weather, you might say :-D I was threatened with legal proceedings this morning – which was nice. A letter which says (and I’m paraphrasing) “we can’t find your payments, pay up or else”. I paid on time, actually, and have done every month I’ve been a member. A letter coming up, I think. Grr. >: (

Woohoo… New CPU and heat sin…

Woohoo… New CPU and heat sink successfully installed, with only a little bit of hassle in taking the old one off. (AMD – please look into a new heat sink retention mechanism – your one sucks) Benchmark run, and yielded EXACTLY the same score as before… methinks my performance bottleneck might not be the cpu :-D

Oops – been a bit lazy round h…

Oops – been a bit lazy round here recently. Well, hip hip hooray, Veri$ign have stopped their wildcarding after being politely asked to by ICANN. Woohoo! \o/ Ask, and make the case before altering a fundamental part of the Internet, next time…

Gaspode is about to undergo a processor-ectomy for the princely performance boost of 5% (Athlon XP 2100+ to Athlon XP 2200+ ooh). He’s been overheating recently, so I thought better safe than sorry and am replacing the whole kit and kaboodle. Hopefully he’ll sound less like a diesel once I’m done.

And… erm… I am dragging windows about and drawing likes between them at work. “Long time no see, Datawarehousing tool” ;-)
